An Advent calendar is a special calendar molty foam which is used to count down the days until Christmas and is especially popular with the kids while they wait in anticipation for Christmas to arrive. The origin of this calendar can be traced back to the early 18th century when the German Lutherans used to count down the 24 days before Christmas physically, mostly by drawing a chalk line on the door each day from the first of January.
