The story goes that the sweets have been part of Gränna since Aunt Amalie started production in 185


The word candy stripes have their own importance when you get to the bit. The small town is located in Småland, brown paper packaging between Motala and Jönköping and is most Swedes known as polka pigs' capital. A sweet smell of sugar and peppermint seeping out from the many homely candy factory ships, which lie side by side. They attracts tourists with enticing brown paper packaging exhibitions and polkagrismakerne demonstrating their crafts every hour during the summer.
The story goes that the sweets have been part of Gränna since Aunt Amalie started production in 1859. She had been widowed and had applied to have the digester as a livelihood. Today you can even see the youth of candy striped outfits in the streets.
We stayed at Grännastrandens camping, which is a very well run place onto Vätern. Here both the cabins and the "locals" brown paper packaging caravans, so we took the tent with us and found us a room at the rear, along with the other traveling.
