Today, 99 years ago, ie on 20 March 1915, Sister Rosetta Tharpe was born. Tharpe is titled as "The Original Soul Sister" but also "Godmother of Rock n 'Roll." Only in the last fifteen years, interest in Tharpe rises again, she was admitted posthumously into the Blues Hall of Fame, a stamp was issued in her honor and it was in 2008 raised money for a grave stone. Tharpe had died in 1973.
